EUR 3,300 fine for buying counterfeit bag
August 9th, 2005
A visit to romantic Venice turned out very expensive for a couple of Dutch tourists. They were fined no less than EUR 3,300 for buying a counterfeit branded bag. During an inspection the police found that they had purchased the counterfeit bag from a street vendor. The zero tolerance policy of the Venetian police led to a high fine for the tourists.
